A Bloemfontein reunion Shabbat dinner will be held in Johannesburg on Saturday February 20.

Last night in Perth, Australia, Rabbi Shalom Coleman reminisced about his years as the Jewish spiritual leader in Bloemfontein from 1949 to 1959

Those of you who do not know Rabbi Coleman, he has the most phenomenal memory, and recently celebrated his 97th birthday!

  1. My father, the late Ronnie Rosen was involved in the choir his whole life. He is in third row in the middle. He eventually became the choir master and devoted a lot of his time to the choir. He was very dedicated to the shul and eventually became it’s president and also ran the chevra kadisha. I hope the Bloemfontein reunion is a success.

  2. I myself never lived in Bloemfontein, but I had an uncle who lived there. Hennie Judelman and his wife Esther (Jankelowitz) and his three children Julian, Barry and Melanie. The children now live in USA. Unfortunately both Hennie and Esther are no more with us. Hennie was an amasing man. He always had a smile on his face and never let anything get him down. He suffered for many years with cancer, but never complained. I loved him dearly. He was a credit to the Judelman family
